antifungal properties of coconut oil|advantages of coconut oil on skin

I have tried several brands of coconut oil lately, and am very pleased with this one, the problem I have had with many coconut oils is they upset my stomach, sometimes have to lay down with bad tummy ache – running to the loo etc.

I can take a large teaspoon full several times during the day and no bad effects, it is smooth and creamy, mild tasting and very nice to use.
It also sinks into your skin alot better than most oils and leaves hands feeling soft.
I especially want to consume large amounts of coconut oil, ie 3 to 4 tablespoons a day, as when I was doing this with another brand, that I can no longer get, I found after only 3 weeks, I was able to stop taking my asthma inhalers that I have been on for 45 years.

I have had kidney stones for 20+ years and always in and out of the hospital. Last July I had 4 surgeries for them within 6 weeks time. It is organic extra virgin coconut oil at a great price! It has the best price for the amount of product. I love coconut oil, I use it in cooking, in baking and on my skin. I love the smell and the taste, very happy with it!

One tablespoon of coconut oil taken daily helps a sluggish thyroid. Also, coconut oil is safer than olive oil to cook with since it has a higher smoke point.

I love this product. I use coconut oil for cooking, smoothies, and as a skin moisturizer. In the past, saturated fats have had a bad reputation, but they are actually very good for you. I was looking for a type of extra virgin coconut oil that is organic and reasonable priced, and this product met my requirements. I currently live in South Korea, and I have not been able to find coconut oil anywhere. I am so glad I can purchase it through iHerb. I have reordered it a few times, and I will continue to order it in the future. It has become a staple product in my kitchen.

I started reading about the benefits coconut oil & it’s many uses and decided to try it on my eczema skin. I apply it after every shower. In Singapore the weather is always Summer so it stays liquid all the time which make it easier for me..I don’t remove the 2nd lid , I just peirce a tini hole and pour the oil in my hands. I use it for my hair & skin. My husband’s hair is thinning , so I’m applying it on his hair too ! I also feed the oil to my 2 cats , 1 teaspoon on alternate days and massage into their fur once a week. The fur look so healthy and shimy ! Love it !! And the coconut smelll is so lovely !!

try this on your skin everyday and you will be amazed at the results. helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and dry skin. it makes for a fantastic cooking oil and has an extremely high heat tolerance. much better to cook with this than vegetable oil, nut oils, and canola. i prefer this over the standard nutiva coconut oil. very nice quality

This product has helped me feel fuller and I have started losing weight with this and a 1200 calorie diet.

I like this product . I have a tablespoon full every day and also rub it into my skin as a great moisturizer. My dogs go crazy for this and they have the shiniest coats on the block!

Coconut oil has so many health benefits and is delicious. This one is very good and a good price. Provides medium chain fatty acids for good health. Tastes great on toast with raspberry jam, added to coffee and makes oatmeal or porridge get a lovely creamy texture. If you take CoQ10 take at the same time as the MCTs allow it to absorb more effectively especially into the brain, Great for dry skin too and one of the healthiest oils to cook with. I buy this or Jarrow fromulas depending on price. Research shows great benefits taking coconut oil for Alzheimers and other nuerological problems when taken at at a high dose. Very satisfied with my order from this company.
I used the coconut oil about a year ago after reading it helps with circulation problems. I have reynaulds disease. My fingers turn white and become numb from the cold. Less than 2wks of using this product every day I hardly experience the circulation problem. I have also lost weight using this product everyday in about a week.

The only reason I didn’t give it a five star rating is because it’s in a plastic container and I prefer glass. The cost is good and it tastes great!!

This is simply the most amazing coconut oil in the world. it tastes so good you can drink it direct from a spoon, my daughter and i also use it on our skin and in our hair, and i saute almost everything in it as well. people comment on how great our food tastes, and best of all, contrary to the silly myth about saturated fats, my cholesterol has gone down nearly 10 points since i started using this with no other significant change to my diet. i recommend it to anyone who wants to make a change to their general health.

First off, I haven’t tried any of the other coconut oils on Iherb, so this is more of a review on coconut oil in general I guess. I bought this to use in my hair and face and then started to use it for basically everything; oil pulling, cooking, eating etc. For my hair it works great and it actually made it grow a lot faster. I put loads of it all over and then I’ll just sleep in it and wash my hair thoroughly in the morning. Sometimes some of it manages to stay put and the hair is still a bit oily after washing, but this only happens when I’ve used too much. The other thing that I’ve had success with is oil pulling with it! The oil has a good taste so it’s easy once you have done it a few times to keep on going for 20 minutes. Keeps my gum healthy and whitens my teeth.
My father is suffering from throat cancer and is undergoing treatment right now which makes his oral health terrible. So I ordered this one for him even tough I didn’t expect him to try oil pulling, but he did! And the results were amazing which I am so glad for! I won’t say that it’s a cure for anything, but for him it helped with getting rid of fungus, blisters etc in his mouth. It also helped with the bad taste and nausea. So, five stars from me!

As the label on the bottle says, this is “Good for cooking”. This is packed in a plastic bottle and shipping charges is more economical. The taste is light and fresh but the aroma is not the best. For eating right-out-of-the bottle, Artisana 100% Organic Raw Coconut butter has the sweetest aroma for the greatest pleasure! Be prepared to pay more for the product and shipping charges.

Nature’s Way is one of the cheaper products, but I’ve tried ALL the organic extra virgin coconut oils out there, and this is the most cost-effective and you get exactly what you expect. I’ve probably ordered 20 jars of this brand alone over the last 5 years.

This makes my skin feel and look beautiful. Also, I mix it with vinegar in a bottle and spray it around my house to get rid of spiders. Spiders hate the smell of coconut oil. This stuff is great!

Favorite product we’ve bought from iherb.com yet! We use this in smoothies, pastries, and more. We actually use it to help treat my husband’s Crohn’s Disease naturally-the oil is a natural stool softener and is good for his gut. Awesome!

After trying out several coconut oils we settled on this product. It is perfect for cooking, baking and skincare. We use so much, that we might have to start buying bigger containers or 2-3 containers in 1 order.

It taste a little like candle wax but is easy to go down. It helps stabalise my blood sugar levels and gives me more energy

I use this in place of vegetable oil or shortening in everything from pancakes to cornbread. Adds a subtle taste of coconut that I really like.

I really like this brand and have tried several. It’s not my most favorite – that award goes to Artisana , but the quality is good. when I first reviewed this product, the price was great, it was far better than Nutiva and – just as good as others that cost twice the price. Now that the price is steadily climbing, I will try others in glass jars.
Update at Dec. 2011: my most recent jar went rancid really quickly, which had never happened before. I called the company, and the first person I talked to was not helpful and wanted me to pay shipping to return it. Her superior, however, immediately offered to send a replacement jar or check, my preference. I let them both know that I’d include their decision in an iherb review! Also note: the company was recently bought out by Schwaab.

I liked the taste and everything but didn’t like it came in a plastic jar…

I put it in my smoothie and since I am in a tropical country, the oil is at constant liquid state. If I put it into the fridge, it gets too solid. After 2 months in room temperate, it turned yellowish with white cloudy swirls. I dumped it.

why change the price??

The taste is as good as other brands like Nutiva. However If you ask to choose, I will prefer Nutiva brand.

This seems very good to me.

i use it on my hair, my skin… for cooking and for the ancient ayevedic practice of ‘pulling’… just pop a teaspoon in your mouth and sish ans pull around for 15 to 20 minutes each day…. it whitens your teeth and helps pull toxins out of the body thru the mucus membranes in the mouth. just swish & spit!

This coconut oil is amazing, very tasty to cook with and also very creamy when added to skin products and also great for the hair.

You really can’t lose, it also smells like coconuts but is not overpowering. I’ll be ordering this one again.

i loved it from my first spoon. economical and tasty. i put it on my my bread every morning :))) before i did’t eat breakfast and was hugry and i ate a lot of sweets – now i feel and look better – my skin is clear… use it while cooking all the time too. my husband in love with it too and he is in love that we are getting more and more healthy with iherb

I’m trying to use more coconut oil in my daily eating/cooking. This one tastes great with a good coconut smell and flavor. It works great for stirfries and Thai food. dIf you are looking for coconut oil without that coconut flavor, you should try a different one.

First at all i love that this product is organic, smell and taste great.
I used this coconut oil for cooking, removing my makeup, i applied to my hair… i even made my own body scrubber ! It’s just a wonderful product.

This oil helps me digest food despite my illness, and has a significant effect on hair and skin.
