I don’t usually bother to do these reviews, but now I felt I have an obligation to inform all about the results of this retinol cream. It’s amazing stuff! I started using it very carefully, only twice a week and with very, very small amounts. After two weeks i used it in every other night and when I noticed my skin tolerates the cream, I have used this cream almost every night. After 6 weeks (don’t wait for instant results) my skin is bright and looks really healthy and glowing, and I have noticed that especially the wrinkles on my forehead has almost disappeared. Retinol does work! I’m 37 years old but my skin was quite young looking at the first place, so I don’t know does this cream do real wonders but for me it’s perfect!

AND HERE IS A GOOD TIP to everyone who’s skin gets irritated after using this cream: after washing your face, use a comforting toner. While skin is still damp, put one drop of argan oil (I guess other facial oils work just as well), I use Acure organics. Facial oil works like a trojan horse, it delivers retinol deeper into skin. Wait that the oil absorbs to your skin and then add retinol cream. If skin feels dry, put your usual moisturizer (I use very thick organic Madara’s Pihlaja daily defence cream, I suppose it’s not in IHerb’s selection, sob…)This facial oil -trick is very good especially for under eye area! AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: use just a tiny amount and don’t rush, result a good if you let your skin to get used to it and remember that tingling feeling and a little redness is part of the process!

I’ve been using a retinol cream prescribed by my dermatogist for several years. I didn’t really like it cos it’s really greasy but have no alternative. Then I saw this on iherb, used it and find it much much cheaper much much potent and definitely not oily. It’s only abt 2 weeks but I’m already ordering it again even though it will last a long time. I use episilk instant facelift serum also ordered from iherb (really really good serum, quite scared it will be discontinued) in the morning with a microcurrent machine and at night I use this cream. For 2 weeks everywhere I go pp say I look radiant and glowy. People are surprised to find out my real age as they thought I look at least 10 years younger! I suppose that’s why I’m stocking up this cream and the serum.

This is real retinol A cream. This is not the cream for newbie tretinoin or Retin-a users… This is for advanced users who respect and understands what retinol can do. This is the cream for those who know when to stop using and let the skin rest and heal and when to start the regime again. With careful use, you will see very very very visible results. NOT FOR PREGNANT LADIES or ThOSE INTENDING TO GET PREGNANT!

This cream is really strong, so be careful when you start use it. Or else you will look like you had a severe sunburn. I did… but when skin was normal again, it looks fresh and with an even tone. I use it every other night and it make my skin feel moist and look young. It also make my pimples go away. I also use it on my back, to remove pimples and to even out scin tone there as well. And I use it on my feet to get babysoft skin. I apply cream and put plastic around my feet, sleep with it and in the morning I have nice feet. Also my hands get this treatment. And I use it on my chest. This is the best skintreatment to the prize.

I have been using this product for 2 1/2 mo. It has done what I was expecting and hoping for: much better skin tone that has left my skin vibrant and younger looking, helped with discolored spots from age and sun, and overall, I see much healthier skin. I’ve actually stopped using foundation!!! One of my friends has also noticed this as well. For those considering using it, yes, it is strong and takes PATIENCE!. I have sensitive skin and got this cream on a whim, liked the price and was looking for a moisturizer for the cold Winters here in Canada, figured the 1% would be negligible but hoped it might help with some minor wrinkles…. Wasn’t expecting much given I have a drawer full of “miracle creams” half used…I started using it every 2nd night as per other users and only lightly, over a period of about 3 weeks I found in the morning my skin looked rosy, the age spots started fading..and my skin texture simply felt different…Nice. Be cautious though, I used it one night like a regular moisturizer putting to much on and felt like I had a burn for about 3 days, use lightly……I have never ever written a review on a cream in my life due to most of them being overpriced and under delivered….I am 62 years old and this is simply fantastic, both for quality and price, if you are a baby boomer you will love it…… going to be a staple from here on in for me…..On another note, as a Canadian shopper IHERB’s prices, quality and delivery are seriously the best..Thanks IHERB !!

I can see small improvements in my skin tone after using this product. I am impressed that it contains 1% Retinol A. My criticism is in the packaging. the product is too easily exposed to the light and air, and will get contaminated with skin and finders touching the cream.

Love this cream. Very strong so I only use it on my face once or twice a week. It has cleared up my adult acne on he back of my neck and upper back by applying every night. Be warned though, it will colour the bed linen orange!

I honestly wasn’t expecting much from this cream due to the low price and packaging. but after four weeks of using it, I have been pleasantly surprised. I’m definitely going to continue using it as my night cream. I have oily combination forty something skin which is prone to the occasional breakout. I was worried its richness would cause me to break out, but it has cleared my skin dramatically, and faded old acne pigment scars. Overall, my skin now looks softer, even toned and refined. Fine lines have been soften, enlarged pores minimized, and the stubborn blackheads are gone. I just started using it every night now with minimal irritation. I would strongly recommend using it once every other day to start, and slowly condition your skin to the 1% retinol. It’s potent and will cause irritation if not careful. A drop of Emu oil after applying the cream has really helped minimize any redness or irritation in the morning.

But it! This cream is incredible. I am 47 & never took care of my skin. Overnight, this treatment has turned my face into a soft silky blemish free vista!!! I’m bowled over. I have been very lucky in that I can use it every night with no effects but follow the instructions & I guarantee you will be thrilled with the results! Retinol 1% is normally way stronger than that. I have my Skinceuticals 1% and its refining properties are miraculous.
So, Life Flo. This is a yellow cream with quite strong but quite pleasant scent, though I can see some people not liking it. Cream is on the oilier side and does a good job moisturizing the skin. The jar is quite big so it will last for quite a while.
Its refining properties are definitely not enough for me and I didn’t notice any “revitalization” difference so next time will try something else.

Recently, I have been entertaining the idea of trying a prescription retinoid for skin renewal. I use an assortment of glycolic and lactic acid OTC products but have found that I need something stronger to really penetrate and clear out my congested pores. While browsing iherb one day, I came across the Life-Flo Retinol A and was intrigued as I was unaware that you could purchase such an item OTC. I’ve used other products from Life-Flo and have always found that they are of excellent quality. First of all the cream is strongly scented, it has a vivid vitamin C scent which isn’t horrible but could be too much for scent sensitive people. The cream itself spreads easily on the skin and only a small amount is required to cover a large area. It isn’t a terribly heavy cream and absorbs well into the skin with no sticky residue but I could find it being too much for oily skinned people. At first, I only started applying this to my nose as this area on my face is fairly hardy and the other reviews note a peiod of peeling. I did not have any adverse effects on my nose, no redness or peeling and my skin felt somewhat smooth. I started using the cream on the rest of my face but found that it didn’t really live up to my expectations. Firstly, I didn’t experience any peeling, stinging or redness which is obviously a good thing but to me these show that the product is working, especially with a chemical exfoliant. I continued to use but found that my skin wasn’t clearer, smoother or softer, instead, I think that it may have caused some congestion. I gave the cream to my mum to try and she was not overjoyed with it either. Sadly, I will not be repurchasing.

This works very well. For people who say it flakes the skin, that’s what it’s suppose to do, take the old cells out, and renew skin. You need to gently exfoliate every couple of days. Also, alternate days of use with a moisturizer. It’s worked on some sun damage and renewed the skin underneath and lightened some dark spots considerably. It works with sun damage to the skin, but it hasn’t done much with the age spots, but I’m still applying to see if it will eventually lighten those up too.

Every other night I use the Life Flo Health Retinol A 1% Advanced Revitalization Cream (also available on iHerb)on my face, neck and hands. My skin is much smoother and sun spots are fading. Very pleased with its effectiveness.

I am only able to tolerate this cream one or twice a week. I tried the every other day regime but it was too harsh on my skin and I began to feel almost a chemical burn even though I used very little. I do have sensitive skin so I would advise those with sensitive skin go slowly and don’t over do it.

I’ve been using it now for about a month, but from the first few days I noticed a difference in my skin. People tell me all the time what a beautiful complexion I have. (And I don’t). It’s the best product I’ve ever seen for acne, too. The product is amazing and you can’t beat the price. Highly recommend!

Since this is the only brand I can found here in iherb, i can’t compare the effectiveness of this Retinol cream product over others. However, I would like to compliment this cream. I’ve been using this on an alternate night for 3weeks, & I could feel my skin’s texture improving. Though I’ve read over & over agin that the effect of Retinol product shows in months of continuous usage, I can already tell that my skin is returning to my original skin tone (whiter), which has gotten much darker over my last 3-5years…………my mom who uses this product together with me, even got a compliment from her friend who haven’t seen her in a year about the better & whiter skin of hers! I’m happy with this cream so far, & let’s see in time there will be more improvement or not! ^^

I just started using this at night. I apply it to my lines after Reviva Labs 10% Glycolic Acid Cream. I’m thankful that the fine lines are noticeably less than before. I’ll continue to use it. I love iHerb.

I bought this on a whim base on the reviews and had no expectations as too many products over promise and underdeliver – besides costing quite a bit of money too. I used a pea size amount every 3 days for the first 3 times, then every other day since. By the second week I could feel my skin much smoother and softer, and now more than a month layer the penny size pigmentation on my face has lightened. Even my husband noticed it. Of course, you cannot depend on this retinol alone to make your skin brighter – you have to sleep sufficiently, drink lots of water and reduce sugar and stress too, and eat nutritious food. Whenever I overwork and feel stressed, and do not sleep or hydrate sufficiently my skin looks dull and darker, not bright. However the retinol does help a lot in rejuvenating my skin and it always feel so soft and smooth the day after application. This brand is such great value for money. A bottle will last a long time since you only use a little. What wonderful value! Beats all the products out there by the major cosmetic company. What a lovely product. Am so thankful! Every one should have access to beauty at reasonable prices. This is one of the rare “this works”!

This is a very very good product. If you’re looking for one product that is actually truly working on wrinkle or Acne, and not so strong as A acid, then this is it.

Retinol is really softer than A acid, cause less damage on skin, and may effect on all types of skins (mine is dry and bit sensitive)

I only use for two weeks or so, and my skin has been perfectly glow, and smooth!
But i did conquered a situation at the beginning: itchy & peeling. that was a nightmare three days!
My suggestion: Do NOT use it ALONE!!!!
You should use this mixed with your cream, proportion can be 1:1 or 1:2….depends on how strong or healthy your skin is.

If you have sensitive skin, this 1% retinol is originally soft but could be still strong for you. So remember, always mix it with your cream, and you’ll be fine.
I now throw away a lot my Guerlain, Dior, Kiehl’s skin care products since they are far from good to compete.

This retinol cream is the best vitamin A cream out there! Way better than the retin A cream than I got from my dermatologist. I usually use it 3 times at nighttime, then stop. A few days later, the skin peeling starts and lasts for a week. After that, I use products to speed up the healing so my skin can recover faster. My skin is always baby soft and tight afterwards because of this cream! I don’t use the Life Flo Retinol A cream that often, just occasionally when I feel like my skin needs a good peel My mom loves it too, we both been using it for over a year now!

Love this product because it smooths the skin making it more supple. Just make sure not to apply it too close to the eyes because that can create swollen eyelids.

I used this cream for just two nights. I then broke out into a terrible rash. I have white bumps on my face and red splotches on my neck. I’m itchy and my skin is constantly stinging. I went to the doctor and she told me retinol is a medicine and is best prescribed by a doctor. Since many creams are only 0.05%-0.5%, I should’ve known 1% is too strong. I urge anyone interested in this cream to talk to a doctor first and then test a small area of skin. I’m now on oral medication and applying a cortisone cream. I’ll have further treatment done this weekend. This cream has cost me over $100 in skin damage/repair. :*(

Started using this product only twice before my skin begins to peel. So I must say Retinol A 1% is quite strong. The peeling sort of gives you a new skin layer, hence stimulates collagen production, which is good. This will erase fine lines and fine wrinkles as well. When applied, you will feel a little tingling sensation, this indicates that the product is working. Don’t forget to protect your new layer skin from the sun and moisturize it well. Adjust the frequency of use of Retinol A upon your skin tolerance. It has a nice citrous smell. Really like this product.

I just got this cream, have been using it for a week, and really don’t like it. Not quite sure what it’s supposed to be doing because at first it seemed to do absolutely nothing, actually, made me break out immediately after first use. Since it didn’t seem to irritate my skin I continued to use it (which is probably more often than they said to apply it). After something like 4 days my skin started peeling all of a sudden, broke out all over, and it’s burning and peeling like I’m sunburnt. I would have used as directed, but it literally felt like it did nothing, and then boom. Bottom like – it doesn’t tighten, does not improve the appearance of skin (again, made me break out), literally no improvement from this cream). I would not buy it again.

Update after a few months…
I started using this much less frequently – about once a week, then every 3-4 days. it works good for major wrinkles like forehead frown marks. If used too often will make skin peel and break out. Caution – retinol does increase cell turnover so it will bring all pimples and such to the surface. You do have to get used to this one, and it is NOT for daily use. Changing the rating to 3 stars, it’s still not that amazing, but at least not horrible as I originally thought.

I have been using this cream for about a month now. I like the consistency, the smell and the results. This product got me a light peel, and I feel my skin is much better hydrated and looks better to me. I bought this product in order to use it before I do a TCA peel, and as an effective night cream.

The product should be applied according the attached instructions. Don’t use it every night from the start on because it will sting your face.
I also love the fact that this product is OTC and affordable.

I got this Retinol cream after watching beauty guru’s video, ‘gossmakeupartist’.He recommend me to use retinol to revitalize and remove the acne. I was lil bit worried because he mentioned that 1% retinol may be too strong for beginner. However, for me it worked perfectly. I used it as a night cream and when i wake up my skin become silky and acne sign is getting minimized. Basically it help to fill the thin skin layer. Plz use Sunscreen after use Retinol cream, if you use it in day time.

This cream works extememly well. Love it! I would suggest using it every other day. Have purchased others with much higher price that do not work as well if at all.

This cream causes peeling, so you really have to follow the instructions on the box which say to start from a frequency of twice week. I was too zealous and used it everyday, thinking that my skin should have been conditioned by reviva’s 5 % glycolic acid cream and by my monthly 35 % glycolic acid peels.

My skin was definitely brighter after using the retinol a but the cream was quite greasy and i suffered a minor outbreak. My chin started peeling badly and when i used the glycolic peel, i suffered from major stinging and redness, something i’ve never experienced before.

Am going to alternate between the glycolic acid cream and retin a cream and stop the retin a for a week before i do the glycolic peel.

This is a great cheap retinol cream and works perfectly but, retinol is broken down in light so the packaging should be in a metal tube or pump bottle instead of a tub. I find mine starts to go off in about a month, you can tell when the yellow colour of the cream changes and becomes less effective. For the price it is amazing but I haven’t figured out if buying a tub a month is any more cost effective than the stuff I get from my aesthetician every three or four months. If they changed the packaging it would be the perfect product.

I have been using this for quite some time now. I’m on the 3rd jar. Although it does seem to tighten the neck area, after my skin finally got used to it I haven’t noticed any difference in fading sunspots.So I probably wouldn’t purchase this again if there’s no change after the 3rd jar is finished.

I had high expectation for this, and was really looking forward to it…
but my face broke out really badly after two days of using it.

I love this cream, it smells great and it makes my skin look really good and my mimical wrinkles are disappearing. The cream is yellowish but it`s not a problem because one shouldn`t wear creams with retinol at daytime anyway. Don`t forget your sunscreen and start with appying retinol 1-2 times a week.

Helps with lines, blemishes and acne. Can be very drying so apply sparingly. Had a very bad reaction in the neck area as it got very red and itchy. Just using in my face for now.

This cream works. It improves overall skin tone and texture but does so slowly and gently. There isn’t noticed peeling or stinging that is often present when using a retinol cream. Even though it isn’t recommended to use retinol around the eye area, I’ve done so with this cream on a few occasions without any incident. It’s not greasy, but it is tacky to touch. Because of this, I find that it works great under mineral makeup. It provides a sticky base for the makeup to adhere to. I’ve used this on my face, neck, hands, and a stretch mark that I’ve recently acquired (at bedtime) and have continued to receive great results. The results aren’t immediate, but they are obvious with consistent use. Because of how well this works, I’m tempted to try out the higher dosage.

Btw, my skin is accustomed to retinol creams and tca peels and things of this nature, so I didn’t experience the stinging and burning that others reported. Also, I don’t use this on my face everyday and night. I alternate products. On days that I don’t use this, I notice the absorption of my other products seems to be much better. Overall, I’m really glad I’ve added this to my skincare routine.

I have been using this cream for about 6 months now and i have seen a distinct improvment in the fine lines on my forehead and around my eyes. Its a thick luxurious cream, orange in colour, which has a strong smell of oranges. you only need a tiny bit and it spreads well. i use this twice a week as it is too strong for any more than that.
When i first started using it it made my skin peel but this is to be expected from a product that contains retinol, if you are not used to it your skin will peel. furthermore, if it is making you peel and you use it 2 nights in a row it will give you what looks like a light sunburn. potent stuff! but after a while using it your skin gets used to it and you can use it more often.
highly reccommended for smoothing out fine lines and improving the texture of your skin but be aware that this takes time and doesn’t happen overnight!

I used 2 nights in a row and skip for 1 night, resulting in clear skin, smaller pore and blemishes free skin. Really love this product. But don’t overdo it, or your skin will burn!!

I am unable to use Rx Retin A. It burns my skin. This, however, is very pleasant to use. I got a tiny amount of peel around my nose after using it two nights in a row. But my skin really needs exfoliation, so I don’t mind at all. Retinol A is one of the few substances that has clinical results proving its effectiveness. And I am in love with Life Flo.

Last week I had to stop and stare at myself in the mirror. My skin was glowing like it hasn’t since I was in my twenties. One of the biggest surprises was my mouth. I hadn’t been putting it on my lips, but some cream would overlap onto my mouth because I was using it on the wrinkles on my lip line. Well, my mouth looks plumper and softer — like a decade and a half removed in three weeks! Another notable improvement was in some small flat warts that had begun to appear. All but two are gone.
This is an amazing product and I feel grateful to have found it. I had never used a retinol cream before and was a little worried about peeling, About two weeks in, I noticed some slight peeling around the corners of my mouth and around my crow’s feet. A little VERY gentle salt scrub relieves it. When I go out I use a 15 spf. My skin is fair, but olive, and tends to tan instead of burn, so someone with sun vulnerability maybe needs something more powerful. But for me, I’ve experienced no sun sensitivity or burns just using my normal 15 spf.

So, to recap —
• Lines: it’s diminishing medium-set lines, it’s removing fine lines, it seems to have put the brakes on things getting worse, and the deepest lines are starting to improve just a bit.

• Complexion: My skin is smooth and glowing, and the pores are a bit better.

• Imperfections: Skin tags/warts are disappearing.

I’ve been using skin doctors gamma Hydroxy forte for about two years now and decided to up my dosage of retinol. After a couple of weeks of usage, this seems like a great product, especially given the low price.
Just a tip to users; although I avoid my eye area, I found that when I applied my under-eye cream, there was obviously enough residual product left on my fingers that I ended up with stinging red rings around my eyes- I now wash my hands straight after applying it.
The only reason I deducted a star was firstly because I don’t like the packaging (an airless pump would be more appropriate for a product like retinol)
And secondly because on receiving it, the product was VERY warm (it had obviously been sitting in the back of the postal truck all day long). I know this isn’t explicitly iHerbs fault, but ultimately they are an online retailer and it’s their responsibility to make sure products arrive with the same integrity as they left.

Only been using it for 4-5 days, and no adverse reactions so far. But please, do change the packageing! In a tube, the retinol stays fresh and active- but in a jar like this, well I’ll just have to use it up fast! The scent is pleasant by the way.
Update: I´m getting a bit fed up with the runny consitency of this ´cream´- it is very runny and would work sooo much better in a tube. Also the orange essential oil is not an ideal ingredient in a facial cream – this I have picked up from Beautypedia. I´m switching to Derma A´s retinol options instead.

Retinol and Hyaluronic Acid are the only two ingredients actually backed up by science, known to do something for the skin, in an ocean of useless cosmetic products. This is not for sensitive skin types,however, and must be used according to instructions. Also, if there are patches of damaged skin this will peel off the protective layer.

Stains the clothes yellow! You have to avoid your eyes and be careful. After using it for about a week, my skin suddenly my skin started to dry out dramatically and it burned like.. It’s no regular moisturizer. I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you are really convinced about the benefits of retinol A.

This product is very powerful! Careful when you first use it, to follow the instructions on the label. If you use too much, too quickly you can get a “retinol burn” (redness, peeling, which goes away if you take a break from the product). Seems to improve skin texture.

I regret buying it.I have severe rashes on my face and my skin started peeling off. I just used it 2 times. It took two weeks for my skin to come to normal condition.

Retinol is one of few ingredients I’ve seen a noticeable result in my experience. So I bought this product to take an intense care of my skin now and thanks for a great price. No irritaion for me though I look orange as carrot after applying at night. Next morning my skin has been smoother. It would be greater if this wasn’t a jar but tube. I’m going to get back here after a complete jar.

Another review said to be careful how often you use it when first beginning so I keep that in mind. It also states that on the directions. I’ve only been using this product for a couple weeks and I like it so far. I don’t use it more than every 2 or 3 days. My skin does seem to be softer. I was having bouts of adult post PMS acne. I cleared that up before using this product, but once I started using Retinol A, I’ve had no more problems and my skin is smoother. I’ve only used the product that was on the lid, so it doesn’t take much. I’m guessing this will last me about a year.

i use a small quantity every night, for day i use a rich moisturizing cream.This cream does not cause me irritation, i have a radiant beautiful skin.
