Customer reviews about the product:

I am happy with this product. For now, I Prefer to buy Xylitol made from Birch trees instead of corncobs (unless country of origin and non GMO stated) even though it is probably more sustainable to buy made from corncobs. I like that it is made in USA (no dodgy origin).
The only negative point (hence the 3 stars) is that it is not very fine (1-2 mm) but given the savings I make (even with the postage fees to Australia, it is 1/2 price from local shops), I will keep ordering it. Thumbs up for I-Herb fast and efficient service.
Just got this and love it. We previously received another xylitol and did not realise that it was corn-based. My two younger children reacted really badly. Now that we are back to the original birch bark xylitol were feeling so much better!
This product is SO good! I needed to cut out sugar from my diet as much as possible due to digestive problems (gastritis, terrible gas, bowel pains). I never thought of a yeast build-up in the intestines. I have been using this in coffee & tea…it tastes & acts just like sugar!! What a blessing!!! TRY IT!!!
Great product! Our dentist said it kills bacteria and fungus in the body so that’s an added benefit.
Best tasting xylitol I’ve ever had. Birch source seems to make the difference.
This has changed my life after i gave up wite sugar. I Use it in all my baking and cooking. No one asks questions about it.
Just received, it has a different name on my bag though, XYLA. Seems Emerald Forest changed the name of it, but no big deal! LOVE that this is made from birch hardwood instead of corn fibers! Especially since I am allergic to corn products.

The crystals are big, not fine. Kind of like colored sugar for cake or cookie decorations, but no big deal at all to me! Just wanted to share for those who prefer a finer sugar, but hey if that is a big deal, you can always use a coffe grinder or blender to make it more fine or powdery.

NO aftertaste whatsoever and is very clean tasting, pure crystal sugar.

I used it on oatmeal this morning and you’d never know cane sugar wasn’t in it. Plan on making some limeade with it later today. :)

Beware of other companies………..Emerald Forest is USA GMO free xylitol from birch NOT corn. Also alot of other companies charge less because it’s produced in china…..therefore labor is cheaper, so product is cheaper. AMERICAN made for me and my family and love that it’s BIRCH! Now, to see if it helps with our sinus probs and asthma. :)

P.S. It IS safe for diabetics to use and is LOW on glycemic index scale AND is safe for candida sufferers also! It helps eliminate all kinds of nasties from our systems! Birch is far superior to corn xylitol!

This type of xylitol caused a little intestinal distress for me personally. I usually use the Now Foods brand without any problems and had read that this brand was better. I’ve gone back to using Now Foods xylitol.
Use it on my porridge, lovely flavor, much like sugar…..beats stevia!! No aftertaste!
I usually use this together with e.g. erythritol or palm sugar. I’m very pleased with it and the price is good.

This is the same as “Bjørkesøt” in Norway.

This taste just like sugar, but is a lot better for the blood sugar! Will buy again :)
Wonderful product. Tastes just like sugar! Very pleased and will order again!
I don’t know why xylitol has been kept such a secret. It is far superior to sugar – tastes great, satisfies the sweet craving without any feeling of needing more. You can feel that it is good for you
I chew at least seven grams of xylitol crystals per day in order to improve my dental health. This xylitol, made from birch trees, definitely tastes better than xylitol crystals manufactured from corn. I highly recommend this product, which is also well-packaged.
most xylitol is corn based. not good. so always buy the birch xylitol made in USA
I bought this because it is the only one I could find on iherb that was not made from corn.
Best sugar substitute I have tasted and unlike many of the others this one is derived from birch.
I was really stoked about this product when it arrived, thought it has a great taste as well as the dental health benefits xylitol provides. But as the time passed by, I started to notice the aftertaste practically every sugar substitute has. Felt my coffee does not taste as good as it used to. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a nice product with a lot of great characteristics, but right now I’m more interested in taste and willing to explore some other alternatives.
This is the only brand I’ve tried so far and like it. It is a little coarser than regular sugar but dissolves quickly. Tastes like sugar, sweet like sugar. The only problem with Xylitol in general is we can’t consume a lot in a day as it gives stomach issues.
I liked it, but it finished too fast. Small packaging. Unfortunately, the cheaper Xylitol products are made of Corn and not Tree Bark

Perhaps I expected too much after reading all the positive reviews. I’m using a Xylitol based toothpaste and love it so this product should be fine. However, I could barely taste 2 tablespoons of this in my coffee. When I added more, it tasted strange, definitely not like sugar. It’s back to Stevia for me.
I tried this product over a period of a couple of months. I thought I was ingesting a pure natural product. Do the research as to how this product is manufactured.
I stopped using it in tea, coffee and porridge as it ripped my insides.
It left me feeling ill, drained of all energy. This stuff ought to come with a serious health warning.
Will stick to honey for my porridge and drink tea and coffee without any toxins.
Xylitol is similar to a traditional sugar, but has more white.
This looks, taste and cooks very well, with no unpleasant aftertaste at all. However, I do not know if it safe for diabetics, or for those who need to drastically reduce sugar in their diet (e.g. candida sufferers).
Works great in baking. Just like sugar!
Great product and NOT made from corn. What more can you ask for!
Taste like sugar, but it’s natural.
It is my favorite!
Better than gum with nasties!
This is great sugar alternative for high blood sugar. Cannot taste the difference between this and sugar. Even my hubby can’t tell the difference. Baking, coffee, compo, gravy. POISONOUS FOR ANIMALS !
I notice a difference in quality between corn based and birch based xylitol, especially my guts! No rumbles with this one, and it flavours my shortbreads, slices and protein shakes beautifully.
I’m very happy with my purchase. The Xylitol tastes great – very similar to sugar and it doesn’t give my digestive issues like cheaper quality brands do. I purchased it because it’s made from North American hardwood rather than a common GMO item like corn.

I will buy again when I run out.

(the only thing is the crystals are a little big so slower to dissolve)
Excellent product!
Of all the sugar substitutes I’ve tried, this is the best. Leaves no aftertaste. Perfect for coffee. I used it this morning to sweeten my oatmeal, very sweet, I should use less. Very satisfied, thanks!
I love this product! I’m on a paleo and lowcarb lifestyle, sometimes I miss eating baked goods – coz of all the sugars and gluten. Bought this, made tasty cupcakes and cupcake icings (after blending it down to powdered form and sifting them out). The sweetness is there and no aftertaste, and no side-effects too. Thank you, Xyla!
I love this xylitol because has a great taste, I use for diabetic person and we love it. Excellent taste for cookies and pastry. I’m going to try other brand to taste too
I love this product and it truly does taste just like sugar and is not derived from corn. I read some of the reivews and people are commenting that it’s not finely ground and what I do is put some in a coffee grinder (one that I don’t use for coffee) and Wha La, I have fine ground Xyla sugar. No biggy deal. Iam experimenting with making a peach cobbler and substituted Emerald Forest Xyla using the exact proportions to the sugar the recipe called for.
We all know that we love “sugar” and yet it is just so not good for us and the cause of so many health issues including too much candida.
So I say switch to XYLA and enjoy the sweet taste without the guilt.
As usual, it’s a great product at a good price, and shipping is pretty fast.
So glad to find a source for Xylitol made from Birch instead of corn.
A very nice sweetener. I’ve tasted it out of the bag and have used it several times to make chocolate milk. A very nice product I will continue to buy it.
great stuff
