Redmond Clay has been used for generations to help support digestive health. For thousands of years, primitive people carried a ball of clay with them in their packs. Some of this clay was dissolved in water and ingested with their meals. Clay was the natural medicine used by the natives for fighting many stomach ailments, dysentery and food infections.

Suggested Use

For external use: Mix the clay with water to make a gel about the consistency of mustard. The gel can be applied externally as a poultice on cuts, bruises, insect bites, bee stings, boils, rashes, acne, and burns. It can also be used as a facial.

For internal use: Take 1-2 teaspoons of Redmond Clay with juice or water daily.

I purchased this after reading that bentonite clay is good for digestive health.
Many clay products say they are for external use only but this one has instructions for internal use so I assumed it was safe. There were many positive reviews so I decided to give this one a try.
I took 1 tsp in a large glass of water before going to bed.
During the night I awoke to the most severe leg cramps I have ever had before or since. It took me weeks to replenish my magnesium enough to stop cramping and feel right again.
This product can pull good minerals from the body as well as bad ones (heavy metals). Be very careful with this product if there is even a possibility of having a mineral deficiency.
I purchased this product to be taken together with Diatomaceous Earth as part of a treatment regimen for Candida Overgrowth. The DE destroys the Candida and the clay helps with elimination. It worked really well but is very difficult to mix and to swallow. Not very pleasant to take but we’ll worth it for the results.
It should have been written that this product contains trace amounts of lead that can cause birth effects and other reproductive harm as mentioned on the package. Such information should have been mentioned in the product overview!!!
I can talk about so many uses of this clay!

The most economical way is to hydrate a 1 part of redmond clay with two parts of water (watch the video of redmond clay in youtube). Then I have the ready redmond clay which I can use for facials, insect bites, etc.

I use this for facial, leave it on my face until it dries, then wash it off. there is so much circulation on my face it felt warm, and my face is flushed (for around 30 mins) – then my skin is glowing, my pores have shrunk! It’s a bit drying so I put some rosehip oil and coconut oil.

For internal use, I simply put a tablespoon of the hydrated redmond clay (or a teaspoon of dry clay) in a glass of water and stir. I take it either in the morning or at night. Sometime, I combine with psyllium husk.

I also make a toothpaste by dissolving 1/4 tsp of celtic sea salt and 5 sachets of xylitol (according to taste) om 1/4 cup hot water. Then I microwave this mixture to ensure it’s boiling hot. Then I mix in 1/4 cup of clay. Then add peppermint, cinnamon, and clove oil to taste.

Make sure that the hydrated clay doesn’t get in contact with metals.

this clay has a dual function in that you can use it internally as well as externally. i have only used it for facial masks, so i can only compare it to other bentonite clays that i have used for skin purposes. this one has a slightly finer grain size and texture, as well as a lighter color than the aztec secret clay, which i normally use. this one comes across more like talcum. makes a really nice facial when mixed with some apple cider vinegar, honey, or lemon
I was up all night with a stomach ache. In the morning when I HAD to be up and around. Tried all my other OTCs, and the pain was persisting. Tried a teaspoon of this in water, and a half hour later I was feeling okay. Was able to go through whole day without the pain returning. I guess the Native Americans were onto something!
Excellent quality. I tried another popular brand, but Redmond is much better. Redmond you can also use for internal use. I highly recommend it.
Love it…it is a good product for the removal of oil from the skin. Leaves my face feeling fresh and tight! AS an internal detox it works very well…stuff came out ..I guess it’s not supposed to be in there! Get out!

Doing my research for an internal detox…this one seems to be a straight answer from nature used by the indians and even the parrots to combat toxicity in our daily environment through food consumption.

So happy to have gotten some clay because I have heard such great things about clay. Have been experiencing how to use it. So far have only had some in a glass of water. I let it sit over night so that it mixes in the water and then drink it in the morning.
I tried this for a queasy stomach and on a sensitive tooth without enamel. It mellowed out both, and was clearly better than zeolite powder. Very impressed, and will always have some on hand from now on.
What’s great about Redmond clay is useful both internal & external.
This has worked great in our homemade toothpaste. My teeth feel clean all day long.
Doesn’t remove blackheads or clear up blemishes as claimed by other users. Not suitable for sensitive and dry or dehydrated skin. Will cause severe redness and dryness.

great face mask, really draws out blackheads, not too drying.
Not quite sure how well this works on me yet but it took away my dog’s diarrhea in one dose.

I add this to a carob or cacoa mix as it is hard to drink with just water and doesnt mix. I find it clogs me up a bit so I dont take it all the time but apparently it sucks up a bit of gunk from your intestines on the way through which I think is a good thing!
Hard to recommend this to internal use, after reading the small label about the lead warning. I feel cheated with this product. I wish I would be read the reviews more carefully.
I want to transition to all natural and herbal products for my family but this one has lead and tge redmond earthpaste as well. You mentioned that yoir product specially made for your family and kids but it’s also written behind that it contains lead and kids and pregnant women can’t consume or use. I’m confused.
Bought this to take internally as part of a detox. No side effects; I can’t be sure it’s doing anything, but it does not disagree with me.
It has a high iron content, yet it does not upset my stomach. If this helps with my anemia, it would be great because I can’t take supplemental iron without getting sick.
Start using this daily.. take on an empty stomach (before bed) one teaspoon with a cup of water and you'll feel great!

this may be the best single multi use product on the market. do your own research for montmorillonite clay :-) arived quickly as represented iherb is a good place to buy from.
Superior for detoxing the body and topically as a paste.
Works as advertised. I use it to make homemade toothpaste. I wished it was cheaper.
Mostly use this clay as an anti-acne mask. Helps clear up spots. Is difficult to get a smoothly mixed paste, though. But it’s worth it – you can also eat the clay for detoxifying the body or use it for other diy-purposes.

I absolutely love this product and my customers love it too. It is a must have if making a volcanic ash type product. So far I have made several varieties of soap and they turned out wonderful. I feel this is a high quality product and I love it, 5 stars to this product.
I started using this product after a lot of research and questions, now I’m hooked and always have stock in the cupboard. There are so many uses for clay, however mixing it with water and drinking it each day definitely has beneficial properties. My daughter developed a cold sore when she was extremely unwell. I packed clay on the area and left it on as long as possible before washing off. I also ran a clay bath and immersed her in it for 20 minutes reapplying the clay on the cold sore. The results and recovery time was amazing, even my daughter was shocked. Now if she develops any blemishes or spots, out comes the clay, unfortunately I haven’t been able to convince her to drink the mixture. I wont give up just yet!

I have very stubborn skin and hair, but ever since I have been using clay hair and face mask (recipe from wellnessmama:) it’s much better.
Good for cleaning out pores, I also red that bentonite clay is great for detoxing toxic metals out of your body so I will give that a try.
